The Acoustic Doublet proprietary system developed for the Academy Sovran allows scale to be accurately reproduced. To do this the loudspeaker needs to produce sound waves accurately (length of the sound wave in particular) and this is determined by the physical size of the loud-speaker because the bass and mid/treblle needs to be at least 1m apart .
This is why the Sovran adopts the Reversed Woofer/Tweeter Alignment because it keeps the mid as far as possible from the bass, which is installed at the bottom of the cabinet in an isobarik configuration. The tilt provides the ideal angle for modeling the energy response around the second crossover region.
