The pre-amp caters for both analog and digital requirements. It features R C A and balanced outputs. This is a truly versatile preamplifier, with two YBA ‘signature’ control buttons on the front panel for mute and phase. The remaining two controls are for source selection and volume.
There is a definite warmth of presentation, a fuller lower midrange sets up the YBA’s sonic texture. The sound is based on proximity and immediacy. What sounds the most beautiful is the instruments and vocals located in the middle of the frequency range. Yet this occurs without limiting everything to just the midrange. The treble has an open, strong character, with plenty of energy corresponding to the higher registers of the vibraphone, drum cymbals, etc.
A sound stage is meant to be panoramic and the IA350 fills the room. The separation of the channels gives us a wide sound scene yet does not go beyond the surroundings of the loudspeakers. The IA350 adapts superbly to the dimensions of the listening room, but also to the speakers. The dynamics allow us to listen serenely and absolutely to all styles of music under all conditions.
YBA’s latest addition to the Heritage amplifier range is the A200. Mirroring the styling of the popular A100 but with extra power and a host of additional features, this new model will no doubt enhance its appeal to a wider audience.
